Detroit Family (EYBL) product James Young proved he could play at every level thus far in his playing career. After averaging 27.2 points, 16 rebounds and 5.7 assists as a senior at Rochester High School, Young went onto play at the University of Kentucky. Under Coach John Calipari, his game progressed as he matured as a player. It always seemed the bigger the game, the more he would flourish under Calipari's system. His list of accolades in college goes on for days, but making the Final Four All-Tournament team is impressive for being a freshman. He helped lead his team to a National Title against UCONN, however they fell just short of winning the title. The Boston Celtics selected him 17th overall, James Young will be a name you will hear making a major impact in the NBA someday.
