Over the course of the last few months, I have gotten to know Matthew Moyer, having seen him play at several events. It would only take 2 minutes of speaking with the young man to realize Syracuse University has got someone SPECIAL. I could go on and on about how his presence benefits all those around him but let's talk basketball....(Watch below highlights @ AAU Super Showcase)

Moyer is from Gahanna, Ohio, a tough area that breeds athletes, right by Columbus. While talking about how that will help him at Cuse, Matt stated, "The standard is being set in Ohio. There's a certain competitive nature. We got the greats like Sullinger and Burke to look at." Speaking of Trey Burke, he worked out with Moyer this summer under the watch of legendary trainer Anthony Rhodman, who has a list as long as a phonebook of athlete's he has turned into WOLVES. A funny story Matt told me about how he got onto Syracuse's radar in recruitment happened at the Reebok Breakout Classic. (Watch Mix From)

Coach and former player Gerry McNamara discovered Matthew in Philadelphia at the Reebok Camp. "Coach G-Mac said he didn't even want to be there as bad as other events going on at that time because he was just watching everyone, no particular specific targets." Moyer went on to say that two years in a row now he has landed a gem at the Reebok event. Tyler Lydon in the 2015 class also had a breakout performance last summer. (Watch Mix From)

As for the coaches at Syracuse, Boheim has told Matthew that he sees him as a pro player one day. Coach McNamara has recently attended open gym to check in on Moyer, and here are some photos from his visit followed by his commitment.

When asked how the Cuse coaches see him fitting in offensively he answered, "The CJ Fair type, you know a typical Cuse 3. They see me exposing matchups with my versatility. Basically just a ball-player, in general."

Another 2016 that is arguably the top Cuse target in the class would be Tyus Battle. Syracuse coaches will be at his open gyms this week. In my opinion, Battle is a top 10 player in the class and an ELITE scorer with consistent range, in-game dunk ability, and everything in between. Heck of a SG. (Watch Summer Mixtape)

Coming up, both 2016's mentioned and 2015 commits (plus target Thomas Bryant) are expected in attendance for Syracuse's Midnight Madness. (Watch Mix on 2015 Class and Thomas Bryant)

When asked about the upcoming experience at-hand with Midnight Maddness, Moyer said, "Being on a visit is one thing. Now that I’m committed, I'm so excited to see the Carrier Dome rockin' and full of people. I will be taking my official visit during the Duke vs Syracuse game."

Little known fact.... Matthew watches the Syracuse games from last season on an Ipad or TV while he smashes his breakfast cereal.
